An initiative by Berlin Sports
Practical programmes in sports law, football agency, and the business of sport. Choose the path that fits you.
Lisbon, third edition
About us
Golpath Institute is a sports education programme based in Lisbon, built for anyone who wants real experience in sport, not theory. Over a few intensive days, you'll work directly with agents, sports lawyers and club professionals who do the job today. You'll visit real clubs and organisations, and build the practical skills the sports industry actually uses. You'll leave with a certificate, but more importantly, with the understanding and network to take your next step.
Golpath Institute is the education arm of Berlin Sports, an international sports agency founded in 2012 that has worked with over 1,100 football clubs in more than 100 countries. That's over a decade of real relationships across clubs, agents, and sports organisations, the same network our students get direct access to. We know firsthand how hard it is to get a first foot in the door of the sports industry, and Golpath Institute exists to give people that access directly.

From past participants
It showed me how important networking is, how knowing people can open doors for you, and how being confident and assertive helps you put your foot in that door and be yourself. The programme is so varied, it gives you a 360-degree view of sport, from the law side to the management side, and it made me think about things I had never thought about before. And the people you meet, the other students, the staff and the speakers, really help you establish yourself.
Julia RogalaYou get the chance to network with experts and professionals in the industry, and to learn not only from their successes, but from their mistakes and setbacks, and how they used them to fuel their growth. You gain insights into many sides of sports law and the industry in a unique way.
Atul SoorajIt's a really compact programme. You learn a lot in a short amount of time, and not just about sport, but about life too: how you connect with people, how you bring them into your life and make them stay. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to become a sports agent or sports lawyer and meet professionals and like-minded people.
Can Sarp ŞahinozI finally feel more confident about working in sports law.

Ayush SinghAn unforgettable week spent connecting with inspirational professionals and talented participants.
Sara Wahbi TriusIt was an unforgettable experience where I learned immensely thanks to its strong interdisciplinary approach, and it marked my entry into the sports industry.
Mateus Stone RegoBefore you book
No prior experience is needed, just a genuine interest in the field. You need to be 18 or over, and since all sessions are in English, we ask for at least a B2 level.
Choose your programme and book directly on the website. Your place is secured as soon as your payment goes through. After booking, we'll ask for your CV and a short motivation statement, so we can get to know you and make the most of your time in Lisbon. If you'd like to talk it through first, you can request a call.
Both work. You can join one programme or combine several. The July intake of How to Become a Football Agent and How to Become a Sports Lawyer run back to back, so you can do both in one trip to Lisbon.
That's fine. Both intakes are the same programme, just on different dates, so choose whichever suits you best.
Expert-led sessions with professionals working in the industry, practical workshops such as case studies, moot courts and contract negotiations, site visits to clubs and sports organisations, networking and social activities, and a certificate of participation. Prices include VAT. Travel, meals and accommodation are not included, but we can help you arrange accommodation on request.
Accommodation isn't included in the programme price, but we can help you arrange it. Just let us know when you book, or get in touch any time. Flights aren't included, so you'll need to arrange your own travel to Lisbon.
You book and pay securely online. You can pay in one payment, pay in two instalments, or reserve your place with €500 and pay the rest later. Each programme page has the full details and prices.
All payments are non-refundable, except within your 14-day right of withdrawal where it applies. If you can't attend, you can pass your place to someone else at no extra cost, or ask to move to a later intake of the same programme, subject to availability. Full details are in our Terms and Conditions.
Yes. Everyone who completes the programme receives a certificate of participation at the closing session.
EU and Schengen citizens don't need a visa. If you're from outside the EU, you may need a Schengen visa to enter Portugal, so check the requirements for your country. We can send you an official invitation letter for your visa application once you've reserved your place with €500 (non-refundable), and you pay the rest once your visa is approved. If you'd rather apply before paying anything, we can also issue the letter after a call with our team, but that doesn't hold a place for you, and places are limited. Apply early, as visa appointments can take several weeks.
All programmes take place in Lisbon. Sessions are held at a central venue in the city, combined with visits to clubs and sports organisations. We share the full schedule and venues with all participants before the programme starts.
